Wonderfully eclectic mix - kept having to come back to the computer to check what was playing now. Especially enjoyed the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. Thanks again.

Please keep up the excellent blogging! Your blogging is largely responsible for my knowledge and enthusiasm for all kinds of African music. You've turned me on to such great music, and your commentary is insightful and to the point. Thank you.

Please do keep blogging. I have learned so much about this music from your posts. It's quite obvious you have a knowledge and insight about the music as well as the access, but the ability to put it all together in some very thoughtful writing is certainly a rarity.

The lastest group you have turned me onto is Batsumi. I absolutely love that music and wish there was a way to hear the actual LPs because I need more!

Have a great summer and I do hope to read (and hear) more.

All the best!

Just another thought, I also really appreciate your cultural posts and the photography. Your blog is a fantastic window into african culture for all of us readers.

Cool blog, but how about you make some of the music from your older posts available again, so that new people to your blog can sample them. Its like torture seeing all this great music and not being able to listen to it. Come on, help some brothers out!

Thanks for the shout outs...great to hear from you. As for those old links well let me know what you're looking for and plans can be made. In the meantime these words from Tom Waits: "I try to keep my audience a little hungry, you know uh, "Don't feed the dolphins." is my word. Next time you go out they'll poke a hole in your boat." (Source: "Tom Waits: The Whiskey Voice Returns", All Things Considered, episode 123. NPR radio show (USA). November 21, 2006. By Robert Siegel)
