Free as an African Songbird - RIP Sathima Bea Benjamin
When I received the news yesterday of Sathima's passing I did not believe it. We had no idea that the events organised to celebrate her would become her swansong. Peace go with you sister.
I can honestly say that this news has shocked me. I'm just so glad that this wonderful lady was rightly lauded and appreciated in a big way in the last months of her life. RIP Sathima - and thanks Matsuli Music for doing what you do.

Well said. It is so great that she lived to see this wonderful album brought back to the public by Matsuli. Peace be with her.
