New games

Time again for a matsulidelic mix. Most of these tunes have been on heavy rotation over the past couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy the trip.

01 See Emily Play :: Martha Wainwright
The wonderful Syd Barrett-penned tune redone by Martha from her new album where she resolutely steps beyond the shadows of Rufus and her parents.

02 You've Got The Love I Need (F/ Anthony Hamilton) :: Al Green
A time-warped production of Al Green sounding like 1970 was just yesterday.

03 Ole (Cairo Version) :: Salah Ragab
We've got Honest Jons to thank for all the reworking of the Tony Allen Lagos No Shaking LP. This is the favourite I use as a dancefloor decider.

04 Circus Of Horror :: Quiet Village
Random, exotic, inspired dreamscapes. The LP is worth taking in as a whole.

05 Sanjina :: Orchestre RĂ©gional de Kayes
Classic Malian LP from the early seventies partially rescued from eBay and collectors hell by bootleggers Mississippi Records.

06 Yegelle Tizeta :: Mulatu & the Heliocentrics
In session from the BBC studios in Maida Vale following a storming gig at Cargo.

07 Agnon Djidjo :: Bentho Gustave Titiou & L'International Poly-Rythmo
Taken from a brilliant compilation Off-Track Vol 2: Queens compiled by Kon and Amir.

08 Dimona :: Tonistics
Soul from Israel? Yup the Numero boys found something odd again.

09 Beginners Falafel :: Flying Lotus
Current beats supremo FLying Lotus, man with the Coltrane blood brings forward his shuffling beats.

10 Oriri Jerode :: Godwin Omobuwa
The sweetest highlife tune off the recent Vampisoul sampler.

11 Ebibi (Ekassa 28) :: Sir Victor Uwaifo
From Soundway's latest and a steady grower. You can listen to this and never tire.

12 California Soul (Diplo/Mad Decent Remix) :: Marlena Shaw
A surefire danceflor filler given the Diplo treatment.

13 Oscillations :: Silver Apples
Classic track from the recent reissue.

14 Gnagna :: Rail Band
From the just out Vol 2 Rail Band retrospective. Lovely Malian moves and grooves.

15 Theme Maboneng :: Abacothozi
Pure Gauteng groove from the seventies. Big up Kon for digging this one out.

16 Nations in me/new nation a coming :: sathima bea benjamin
The forgotten female giant of South African jazz.
